Proven 3D Printing Expertise

UMP’s 3D printing capability was born out of a real engineering challenge: during a complex hydrocyclone project, traditional steel moulding was cost-prohibitive. Our team pioneered the use of industrial 3D printing to deliver a viable, high-quality, cost-effective solution and we have been expanding this capability ever since.

During the development of a complex hydrocyclone liner, machined-steel prototype tooling was both prohibitively expensive for a single prototype and too slow for the iterative cycle required. Our engineers pioneered 3D-printed tooling as a viable alternative, producing a dimensionally accurate prototype mould in days rather than weeks, at a fraction of the cost.

That established a principle now applied across our entire product-development operation: 3D printing is not a novelty, it’s an engineering tool that changes the economics of development, particularly for complex geometries, short runs and iterative design.
